Fun Things To Do
- On September 22nd, the Children’s Museum of Acadiana is hosting Girl Scouts Saturday – “Make It By Hand.” Participating Girl Scouts will get to learn all about clay: the origin of it, its uses, and the basics of building and shaping objects. They will also get some hands-on fun by getting to create two original clay pieces using pinch and coil construction techniques. Each piece will be created and oven baked at the museum, and parents will be called when the pieces are ready for pickup. The event is eligible for badge particiapation.
- On September 23rd, Jan Swift will speak at the Alexandre Mouton House. The event will be free and there will be refreshments served. Jan Swift is producer and host of Discover Lafayette, a podcast and television production focused on the culture and people of Lafayette. She has served as Deputy Secretary of State and Assistant City-Parish Attorney for LCG’s Office of Community Development and most recently served as Executive Director of Upper Lafayette Economic Development Foundation. The event will focus on the vision that helped to shaped Lafayette. Seating is limited, so be sure to arrive on time to secure your spot.
