Things To Do
- First Baptist of Lafayette is hosting The Singing Christmas Tree this weekend. The event will begin on Friday evening and will start at 3:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The event has been around for almost 30 years and the tree is just about 30 feet tall. The choirs (children’s, youth, and adult) along with the church orchestra will perform live Christmas carols. The production will also use live theater elements and video along with a computer-operated light show on the tree to create quite a show.
- On Saturday, December 15th, the Woman’s Foundation will be leading a children’s nutritional and fitness workshop called Kids on the Geaux. The program is free for kids and teens ages 8-14.
- This year is the first annual Southern Louisiana Car Truck And Bike Show on December 15th at the Blackham Coliseum. A portion of proceeds made from the event will go to support Autism Society of Acadiana.
- The Omni Center is hosting Lafayette Reggae Night on Saturday, December 15th. Everyone, including children, are invited to this night full of good vibrations. There will be food, a vendor market with local goods, live music, and a drum circle.
