Before your cosmetic treatment, Dr. Young will carry out a personalized consultation. Together, you will discuss your candidacy and personal goals. When the doctor has created your unique treatment plan, he will begin prepping your teeth. After applying a local numbing agent, he will trim away a very thin layer of dental material. This will make room for the porcelain and ensure a stable fit. With his commitment to conservative care, Dr. Young will always reshape your teeth as little as possible to preserve your dental enamel.
After this initial prep work, the dentist will take impressions of your teeth, which will be sent to a dental lab. In the interim, you will receive temporary veneers or bonding to help prevent sensitivity while eating and drinking. In a few weeks, your customized veneers will come back to our office, designed to match not only the shape of your teeth but the exact color as well.
After checking the fit of the veneers and trimming them as needed, Dr. Young will attach the porcelain. He will lightly etch the front of your teeth to increase the surface area for the bonding agent. This will establish a durable fit and provide you with veneers that will last for years to come. When you leave your appointment, you will enjoy full dental function and, of course, a brighter and more stunning smile.
